Job summary

Asplundh in Tampa, FL is hiring a Foreperson to lead daily crew operations, coordinate field work, and enforce safety standards on the job site. You will mentor crew members, train on new procedures, and coordinate with management to meet deadlines and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires understanding of drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, line equipment, etc.
• Must have excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Must have organization skills and be able to multi-task.
• Must be capable of adjusting to field requirements and taking independent action without close supervision.
• Must be able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
• Must be able to work with hands above head for extended periods of time.
• Due to the capacity of existing equipment, the weight of the employee should not exceed approximately 300 pounds.
• Must have no fear of heights.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and assigns daily work for the crew after receiving orders from a General Foreperson/Line Clearance Supervisor.
• Conducts field training/retraining, instructing crew on new or revised job units.
• Enforces safe work practices per OSHA and company policies.
• Discusses with property owners/customers issues such as access, power interruption, and scope of work.
• Obtains permission from property owners to perform required work.
• Promotes and maintains good customer relations through completed work and conduct of crew.
• May be delegated authority to investigate incident reports and settle minor damage claims.
• Maintains records, timesheets, and reports related to crew performance.
• Controls crew costs and resource usage.
• Furnishes reports of orders completed, units of work, crew time, and repairs.
• Furnishes incident and equipment reports periodically.
• Cooperates with customers, police, and fire departments when blocking streets.
• Sets up barriers and safety signs to protect employees and the public.
• Inspects and arranges for repairs to tools, trucks, and equipment.
• Maintains housekeeping on trucks and at the work location.
• Responsible for DOT maintenance and inspection of vehicles.
