Job summary

Ericsson Inc. seeks a Data Center Optical Engineer to lead installation, maintenance, and operation of optical transport in customer data centers. You will interface with customers and vendors, ensuring high-quality execution across installs, migrations, and remote hands.

The role requires hands-on fiber experience, testing, and the ability to travel to non-home markets up to 50% and stay several weeks as needed. You will collaborate with 3PP and field teams.

Qualifications

• 3–15 years of experience in data center operations with direct customer interaction.
• Hands-on experience with connectorized fiber optic cabling (single-mode and multi-mode).
• Read and interpret cut sheets and network diagrams for accurate port connections.

Responsibilities

• Audit daily Ericsson work at customer data centers and provide feedback to 3PP technicians.
• Interact with customers via ticketing tools or in person, delivering clear reports and updates.
• Assist with fiber installation, decommissioning, break/fix, remediation and migrations across data center optical and transport environments.
• Conduct and/or supervise optical testing and troubleshooting using meters and OTDRs.
• Deliver services by interpreting Methods of Procedure and vendor documents accurately.
• Read cut sheets and network design documents to ensure correct port connections and cable management.
