Job summary

Ericsson Inc. seeks a Data Center Optical Engineer to lead installation, maintenance and operation of optical transport in customer data centers and co-locations.

You will coordinate with customers, vendors, and field technicians to ensure high-quality delivery and reliability. The role requires hands-on skills with fiber cabling and optical testing, willingness to travel up to 50 percent, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in fast-paced environments while upholding safety and quality

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in data-center operations or similar environments.
• Strong written and verbal English for customer interactions and reporting.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills using standard office tools.

Responsibilities

• Audit daily work at customer data centers and provide feedback to technicians.
• Interface with customers via ticketing tools or in person, delivering clear reports.
• Assist with fiber installation, decommissioning, break/fix, remediation and migrations.
• Conduct optical testing and troubleshooting with meters and tools.
• Deliver services by following MoPs, engineering docs and network diagrams.
• Read cut sheets and network designs to ensure correct port connections.
