Job summary

US Traffic Control West is seeking an on-site Dispatcher to coordinate the daily scheduling of traffic control flaggers and maintain clear communication between field staff, supervisors, and operations.

You will manage assignments, track hours, and report on staffing availability while ensuring safety and compliance across sites. The role requires after-hours availability and reliable attendance at project locations in Petaluma, CA.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in traffic control or dispatching is preferred but not required.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficient using Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule flaggers/guardians for daily assignments, ensuring adequate coverage for all job sites.
• Maintain detailed records of flagger/guardian assignments, work hours, and other relevant details.
• Report on the performance and availability of flaggers to ensure staffing needs are met.
• Act as the primary point of contact between flaggers, supervisors and the operations team.
• Provide clear instructions and updates on project status, safety protocols, and any changes to the schedule or job requirements.
• Maintain after-hours availability to support business operations and urgent matters.
• Serve as an after-hours point of contact for operational issues and staffing changes.
• Clock in/out and record time for after-hours as per policy.
• Maintain vehicle access to company-issued phone and respond to inquiries promptly.
• Regular, reliable on-site attendance.
