Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services is seeking Field Data Technicians to collect detailed technical information about utility and telecom facilities outdoors. The role involves hiking between poles to capture data for design and construction projects, with training provided.

This position requires routine overnight travel and potential extended stays, with weekends at home. The job includes travel up to 1–2 weeks at a time, occasional longer assignments, and a competitive hourly pay starting at $24.50

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical background preferred.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications and/or electrical distribution systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of pole design including NESC requirements and general safety practices is a plus.
• Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather and be able to lift 15–20 lbs regularly.
• Basic proficiency with computers including reading, interpreting and following GPS maps.
• Ability to travel and work outside in variable terrain and weather conditions.
• Must have reliable transportation and present a professional appearance.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in outdoor environments to collect field data supporting fiber and utility projects.
• Submit organized data for each project including maps, notes and images.
• Operate and maintain tablets, cameras and measuring tools.
• Represent Osmose professionally in the field and with clients.
• Communicate daily with project management team.
• Work safely and independently.
