Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Intermediate Construction Professional to perform field engineering, site administration, estimating, scheduling, safety adherence, and technical direction on client projects. The role is 100% field-based, with work performed under general supervision at project sites across the United States.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the site construction lead, overseeing subcontractors, maintaining project records, and producing daily and quality inspection reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus nine (9) years of relevant experience.
• Associate degree plus six (6) years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years of relevant experience. The degree must be in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Assist and coordinate with the site construction lead on overall field operations, including scheduling, daily and quality reports, conformance to drawings and specs, and subcontractor communication.
• Oversee subcontractors and construction to ensure safety, quality, and adherence to drawings.
• Ensure work aligns with project schedule and escalate delays to the Project Construction Manager.
• Write Daily Reports and Quality Inspection Reports for review and record-keeping.
• Take progress photos and label them for the record.
• Support Monthly Progress Reports and ensure latest design revisions are used.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent + 9 years experience

Associate degree + 6 years experience

Bachelor’s degree + 3 years experience (Construction Management, Engineering)
