Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Intermediate Construction Professional to work primarily in the field at client project sites across the United States. The role involves field engineering, site administration, estimating, quality control and safety oversight under general supervision.

Responsibilities include coordinating with site leads, supervising subcontractors, maintaining schedules, producing daily/quality reports and ensuring use of current drawings. Travel is 100% for this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus nine (9) years of relevant experience.
• Associate degree plus six (6) years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years of relevant experience. The degree must be in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the site construction lead on scheduling, daily reports, quality control reports, conformances to drawings and specs, and communication with subcontractors as required.
• Oversee subcontractors and construction to ensure safety, quality control, and alignment with drawings’ intent.
• Ensure all work adheres to the project schedule; escalate delays to the Project Construction Manager.
• Write Daily Reports and Quality Inspection Reports for review with the site lead or Project Construction Manager, becoming record documents.
• Take progress photographs of construction events and label each photograph.
• Assist in Monthly Progress Reports.
• Ensure contractors use the latest design drawing revisions.
• Provide assistance to Project Construction Manager as needed.
• Support key trades/subcontractors as required.
• Prepare contract extras and progress payments for client approval with the Project Manager.
• Maintain clear, professional correspondence with project management and clients.
• Maintain on-site records and files per CDM Smith document control requirements.
• Follow the Quality Policy and related work instructions.
