Job summary

Mobile Communications America seeks an experienced Communication Systems Technician to support our MSS division in the Tallahassee, FL area. You will install, program, and maintain complex communications equipment for mission-critical customers.

The role requires a two-year degree in Electronics or IT and hands-on experience with two-way radio systems, spectrum analyzers, and networked devices. Travel and on-call responsibilities apply.

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing mobile communications equipment.
• Two-year degree in Electronics, IT, or applicable subject, preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a 7-year background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen.
• P25 and/or MotoTRBO experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, and maintain complex communication equipment to get customers up and running.
• Fix the system if things go wrong and bring communications back online to public safety, hospitals, utilities, manufacturing, and other mission-critical customers.
• Designing and upgrading customer systems to the latest technologies and solutions.
• Assisting and collaborating well with the team, the Service Manager, and the customer.
• Demonstrating a willingness to learn and be mentored on a new technology in communications and equipment.
• Completing assigned tickets properly and on time.
• Making minor modifications to electronic circuitry per customer request and/or deploying factory software/firmware updates.
• Serving in an on-call rotation and providing 24/7 technical support.
