Job summary

Farmers Home Furniture is seeking a Collections Representative to locate, notify, and secure payments from customers with delinquent accounts. You will contact customers by text or phone, review terms, and document all activities while maintaining accurate records.

The role includes traveling to customer homes, assisting with repossessions when approved, and initiating legal action when necessary. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months experience in payment collections or general office procedures.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Sends text messages, mails form letters and/or late charge notices to customers to encourage payment of delinquent accounts.
• Confers with customers by text or telephone to determine reason for overdue payment and review terms.
• Documents all correspondence and attempted correspondence with customers concerning accounts.
• Receives payments and posts amounts paid to customer accounts.
• Manages a cash drawer, balances it, and ensures security of the drawer when unattended.
• Travels to customers’ homes to collect on late payments and assists with repossessions as approved.
• Prepares paperwork prior to initiating legal action for severely delinquent accounts.
• Initiates credit investigations by telephone for new applicants under supervision of Credit Manager.
• Logs details of work activities daily, weekly, and monthly.
