Job summary

Farmers Home Furniture is seeking a dependable Collections Associate to locate, notify, and secure payments from customers with delinquent accounts. You will contact customers, document communications, and process payments while maintaining cash drawers and supporting the store team.

The role involves traveling to customers’ homes as needed and assisting with repossessions under supervision. A valid driver’s license and prior collections or office experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months experience in payment collections or general office procedures.
• Valid State Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Sends text messages, mails form letters and/or late charge notices to customers to encourage payment of delinquent accounts.
• Confers with customers by text or telephone attempting to determine reason for overdue payment and reviews terms of sales or credit contract.
• Documents all correspondence and attempted correspondence with customers concerning accounts.
• Receives payments and posts amount paid to customer’s account.
• Maintains and balances assigned cash drawer and secures it when unattended.
• Travels to customers’ homes to collect on late payments and assists with repossessions with approval.
• Prepares paperwork prior to legal action for severely delinquent accounts.
• Initiates credit investigations by telephone for new credit applicants under the direction of Credit Manager.
• Logs details of work activities daily, weekly, and monthly.
