Job summary

Farmers Home Furniture is seeking a collections professional to locate, contact, and secure payments from customers with delinquent accounts. You will call, text, or mail notices, document all interactions, and post payments to accounts.

Travel to customers' homes and assist with repossessions when approved by the Store Manager. You will also handle cash drawer responsibilities and prepare legal action paperwork as needed.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in payment collections or general office procedures.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Sends notices to customers to encourage payment of delinquent accounts.
• Confers with customers by text or phone to determine reasons for overdue payments.
• Documents all correspondence with customers concerning accounts.
• Receives payments and posts amounts to customer accounts.
• Maintains and balances a cash drawer and secures it when unattended.
• Travels to customers' homes to collect on late payments; assists with repossessions if approved.
• Prepares paperwork for potential legal action against severely late-paying customers.
• Initiates credit investigations by telephone for new applicants under the Credit Manager.
• Logs daily, weekly, and monthly work activity details.
• Operates office equipment to complete essential tasks.
• Logs service requests into CRM and schedules merchandise repairs.
• Assist customers on the sales floor as assigned by management and maintain CRM updates.
• Maintain sales quotas as established by Store Manager.
