Job summary

Farmers Home Furniture is seeking an organized collections associate to locate, contact, and secure payments from customers with delinquent accounts. You will text, call, and mail notices while documenting all steps and balancing a cash drawer.

The role includes visiting customers’ homes when needed to collect payments and assist with repossession processes as approved. A valid driver’s license and basic clerical skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months experience in payment collections or general office procedures.
• Valid State Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Sends text messages and mails late notices to encourage payment on delinquent accounts.
• Confers with customers by text or phone to review terms and obtain payment.
• Documents all correspondence and attempts with customers on accounts.
• Receives payments and posts amounts to customer accounts.
• Maintains and balances assigned cash drawer; keeps the drawer locked when unattended.
• Travels to customers’ homes to collect payments and assist with repossessions when approved.
• Prepares paperwork for potential legal action against severely delinquent accounts.
• Initiates credit investigations by phone for new applicants under the Credit Manager’s direction.
• Logs daily, weekly, and monthly activity related to accounts and actions taken.
• Operates PCs, printers, calculators, and related office equipment as needed.
• Assists customers on the sales floor and participates in CRM updates.
• Maintains weekly, monthly, and annual sales quotas as directed by Store Manager.
