Job summary

Luster National seeks Field Engineers to support large, complex heavy civil programs—highways, bridges, transit, airports, and water projects. You will verify that on-site work matches approved documents, maintain daily field records, and support decision-making with contemporaneous evidence.

Ideal candidates hold a civil/construct. degree and 5+ years' field engineering experience on major projects, with strong skills in RFIs, submittals, QA/QC, and document-control tools such as Bluebeam,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of field engineering or construction management experience for large (>$500M), complex, heavy-civil infrastructure projects.
• Experience interpreting construction plans, specs, submittals, and RFIs against field work.
• Experience maintaining construction field records (daily reports, quantity records, site conditions).
• Knowledge of construction materials testing, QA procedures, and documentation on heavy civil projects.
• Experience with document-control software (Bluebeam Revu, Procore, e-Builder, Aconex, etc.).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily construction activities against approved plans and document what was built and under what conditions.
• Prepare and maintain project field records including daily reports, quantity records, photos, and site condition logs.
• Verify installed quantities against contract pay items and support progress-pay reviews.
• Review submittals and drawings for conformance and track through disposition.
• Coordinate RFIs among contractor, designer, and program team to closure.
