Luster seeks Field Engineers to support major heavy civil programs, ensuring on-site work matches approved documents and all field records are up to date. You will verify quantities, manage submittals, and document field conditions daily.

Qualifications include a civil engineering degree and 5+ years of field/constructio n management with large projects, plus proficiency in standard software tools used for QA and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of field engineering or construction management experience for large (> $500M) heavy‑civil projects.
• Experience interpreting construction plans, specs, submittals, and RFIs on site.
• Experience maintaining field records (daily reports, quantity records, site conditions).
• Knowledge of materials testing and QA documentation on heavy civil projects.
• Experience with document control/field documentation software (Bluebeam, Procore, e-Builder, Aconex).
• Proficiency with MS Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily construction activities against approved plans and permit conditions and document what was built and under what conditions.
• Prepare and maintain project field records (daily reports, quantity records, photos, site condition logs).
• Verify installed quantities against contract pay items and support progress payment reviews.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and material documentation for conformance and track disposition.
• Coordinate RFIs among contractor, designer, and program team and drive closure.
• Witness and document acceptance testing and QA sampling and record nonconforming work.
• Verify structures work against drawings for falsework, shoring, and concrete placement before contractor proceeds.
• Document field issues and changed work to support claims and record-keeping.
• Support close-out, punch lists, and turnover documentation.
