Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 18 months to 3 years of progressive transportation inspection experience.
• Experience inspecting roadways, bridges, or heavy civil projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Obtain required GDOT certifications within specified time frames.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent inspections of roadway and bridge work for compliance.
• Inspect asphalt and concrete materials, pavement placement, compaction and workmanship.
• Monitor traffic control devices and erosion control measures.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain project records.
• Supervise inspectors and participate in project meetings.
• Assist with resurfacing, striping, safety improvements, and bridge rehab works.
• Communicate effectively with project teams and contractors.
• Perform field measurements for pay quantities.
