Job summary

Accura Engineering is seeking a CEI Inspector to perform construction engineering and inspection services for roadway, bridge, and transportation projects. You will conduct field inspections, verify materials and workmanship, and maintain project documentation to support project engineers and management staff.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and 18–36 months of progressive transportation inspection experience, with the ability to read plans and interpret contract documents.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Knowledge of highway construction materials, methods, equipment, and inspection procedures.
• Ability to obtain GDOT certifications and pass required qualification tests within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent inspections of roadway and bridge construction activities for compliance with plans and standards.
• Inspect asphalt and concrete materials, pavement placement, compaction, alignment, depth, and overall construction quality.
• Inspect structural components such as foundations, excavation, piling, reinforcing steel, concrete placement, culverts, and backfill operations.
• Monitor traffic control devices and erosion/sediment control measures.
• Conduct field measurements and calculations for pay quantities and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare reports and documentation of project activities and findings.
• Supervise or direct inspectors as needed and participate in project meetings.
• Assist with construction management duties on resurfacing, striping, safety improvements, and bridge rehabilitation projects.
