Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a CEI Inspector in Dublin, GA to perform construction engineering and inspection of roadway, bridge, and transportation projects, ensuring compliance with contract plans and standards.

The role covers field inspections, material verification, documentation, and collaboration with project engineers and management. You will read plans, measure pay quantities, and supervise other inspectors as needed, contributing to resurfacing, safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1.5–3 years of progressive transportation inspection or related field.
• Experience inspecting roadways, bridges, or heavy civil construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, and contracts.
• Knowledge of highway construction materials and inspection procedures.
• Obtain GDOT certifications and pass required tests within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent inspections of roadway and bridge construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, contract requirements, and applicable standards.
• Inspect asphalt and concrete materials, pavement placement, compaction, alignment, depth, and overall construction quality.
• Inspect structural components and operations including foundations, excavation, piling, reinforcing steel, structural steel, concrete placement, culverts, and backfill operations.
• Monitor and inspect traffic control devices and erosion and sediment control measures.
• Conduct field measurements and calculations for pay quantities and maintain accurate contract documentation and project records.
• Perform calculations and computations related to construction inspection activities.
• Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, contract provisions, and inspection procedures.
• Prepare reports, maintain inspection records, and document project activities and findings.
• Supervise or provide directions to inspectors performing routine inspection activities, as assigned.
• Participate in project meetings, field plan reviews, CPM schedule reviews, and project closeout activities, as required.
• Assist with construction management duties on resurfacing, striping, safety improvement, shoulder widening, bridge rehabilitation, maintenance, and other transportation construction projects.
• Communicate effectively with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders regarding construction activities and compliance requirements.
• Operate a motor vehicle in accordance with Georgia law and perform field inspections throughout the project area.
