Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a CEI Inspector in Dublin, GA to perform field inspections of roadway and bridge construction. You will verify materials, ensure compliance with plans, and support project engineers throughout construction.

The role requires reading plans, understanding highway materials, and maintaining accurate documentation. A valid driver's license is required; GDOT certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 18–36 months of progressive transportation technician or construction inspection experience.
• Experience inspecting roadways, bridges, transportation, or heavy civil construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Knowledge of highway construction materials, methods, equipment, and inspection procedures.
• Obtain required certifications and pass GDOT qualification tests within specified timeframes.
• Passing GDOT Construction Inspection tests Group 1 & 2.
• GDOT WECS, GDOT Field Concrete Technician Certification, GSWCC Level 1a (Erosion Control).
• Proficiency in mathematical calculations including geometry and trigonometry.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent inspections of roadway and bridge construction activities.
• Inspect asphalt and concrete materials, pavement placement, compaction, alignment, depth, and overall quality.
• Inspect structural components and operations including foundations, excavation, piling, reinforcing steel, concrete placement, culverts.
• Monitor traffic control devices and erosion/sediment control.
• Conduct field measurements and calculations for pay quantities and maintain records.
• Prepare reports and document project activities and findings.
• Supervise or direct inspectors on routine tasks.
• Participate in project meetings and plan reviews.
• Assist with construction management on resurfacing, striping, safety improvements, and bridge rehab.
