Job summary

Mediacom Communications is looking for a Broadband Specialist I (Field Technician) to perform installations of cable and broadband services. You will visit customer homes, operate a company van, and handle service changes, outlet installations, and special customer requests related to installation.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• General level of mechanical and consumer devices knowledge.
• Ability to interact and communicate with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to work in high or tight spaces.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and at various heights.
• Flexible work hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Make customer drop installations (exterior and interior) from tap to antenna terminals.
• Perform new connects, reconnects, and disconnections; add outlets; install/remove converters.
• Analyze picture quality and signal delivery after installation.
• Work with connectors, fasteners, and wire; use hand tools.
• Read signal levels with field strength meter; adjust levels as needed.
• Climb poles, ladders, or structures with proper safety equipment.
• Drive company vehicle and maintain vehicle upkeep.
• Generate additional revenue through information about product options and promotions.
