Job summary

Mediacom Communications is seeking a Broadband Specialist I to install and service cable TV and broadband in customer homes. You will drive a company vehicle, perform installations and changes, and handle special customer requests with a focus on safety and quality.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to operate in varied environments and heights. Training is provided alongside a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• General level of mechanical and consumer devices knowledge.
• Ability to interact and communicate with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to work in high or tight spaces and in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Make customer drop installations (exterior and interior) complete from tap to antenna terminals.
• Perform new connects, reconnects, and service changes; add outlets; install/remove converters; upgrades/downgrades.
• Analyze picture quality and assess acceptability of delivered signal.
• Use hand tools and CATV equipment; read signal levels with field strength meter; adjust levels as needed.
• Climb poles or ladders; lift up to 100 lbs; work in confined spaces.
• Drive company vehicle and perform vehicle upkeep; complete required paperwork.
