Mediacom Communications in the United States is seeking a Broadband Specialist I (Field Technician) to handle new installations of cable TV and broadband services. You will drive the company van, visit customer homes, and perform installation, changes of service, outlet installations, and related tasks.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and customer service while meeting company standards. Training is provided with growth opportunities into more advanced positions.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• General knowledge of mechanical and consumer devices.
• Ability to interact and communicate with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to work in high or tight spaces.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and at various heights.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Make customer drop installations (exterior and interior) complete from tap to antenna terminals in single and multi-unit dwellings.
• Perform new connects, reconnects, disconnects, and changes; add outlets; install/remove converters; upgrades/downgrades.
• Analyze picture quality and judge acceptability of delivered signal after installation.
• Work with connectors, fasteners, and wire using hand tools; read field signal levels.
• Read general drop system layouts from blueprints and ensure proper safety practices.
