Job summary

Krystal Biotech is seeking a Patient Access Liaison to educate patients and care teams on payer access, prior authorizations, and appeals. This field-based role requires building relationships with patients, caregivers, and providers while coordinating access options and treatment logistics.

The PAL will help ensure ongoing therapy adherence, collaborate with specialty pharmacies, and navigate payer requirements across regions, delivering non-medical educational support and timely communications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in patient services, field reimbursement, biopharma sales or account management.
• Scientific background and ability to learn product and disease information.
• Ability to travel between 30%-50%.
• Ability to work in team environment and manage communication with internal teams, specialty partners, and field staff.
• Ability to respond immediately (within 24 hours) to prevent lapses in treatment.

Responsibilities

• Support patients with accessing treatment by educating about payer access and insurance processes.
• Assist patients and office staff with sites of care options closer to home and home dosing.
• Navigate office and SOC staff to identify personnel who support coverage and access needs.
• Provide education on affordability options including copay assistance and PAP.
• Provide non-medical educational support about what to expect when initiating therapy.
• Prepare patients and help coordinate the next appointment and treatment.
• Develop trusted relationships with patients and caregivers via phone, text, email, virtual or in-person connections.
• Provide proactive education to centers and sites of care on billing and coding requirements for product and services.
• Work within Krystal patient CRM/Workflow system to document progress and complete tasks.
