Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a field-based General Maintenance Technician to support maintenance across assigned stores within a geographic area. Daily site visits, collaboration with store leaders, and preventive maintenance are core aspects of the role.

Responsibilities include using CMMS to document issues and coordinating with vendors and leadership. Ideal candidates have strong problem-solving, good communication, and a commitment to customer service.

Qualifications

• Must have strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform entry-level repairs.
• Basic computer literacy is required.
• Able to communicate effectively with Store Managers, Directors and external partners.
• Committed to customer service and brand integrity.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a field-based role.
• Retail/store experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.

Responsibilities

• Travel to assigned Dollar General stores to address maintenance concerns.
• Troubleshoot and collect asset information for on-site projects; guide leadership on solutions.
• Assist with entry-level maintenance, including light exterior grounds and safety assessments.
• Document and resolve tickets within designated timeframes.
• Provide training to identify root causes when needed.
• Occasional after-hours work may be required based on urgency.
• On-site, use checklists to determine preventative maintenance steps and educate leadership.
