Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Field-based General Maintenance Technician to support maintenance for assigned stores within a geographic area. You will respond in person to maintenance tickets, perform preventative maintenance, and educate store leadership on best practices to extend the life of coolers, freezers, and equipment.

Daily work involves traveling to stores, troubleshooting issues, and documenting activities in CMMS; occasional after-hours work may be required based on urgency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or applicable experience.
• Active Driver's License.
• Willingness to travel up to 100%.
• Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Travel to sites where maintenance concerns have been reported by store leadership.
• Troubleshoot, collect and verify asset information for on-site service projects within the assigned operating district.
• Support entry level maintenance, including light exterior grounds and assessing safety equipment per local ordinances.
• Document and resolve tickets within designated time frames to meet business needs.
• Perform training to identify root causes of issues when necessary.
• Occasional after-hours work may be required based on urgency of repair.
• On-site, use checklists to determine preventive maintenance opportunities and educate store leadership.
