Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Field/Base Network Engineer for the SMIT contract at a government site in Virginia. You will lead BAN/LAN/WAN network operations, installation, and integration of current and future NMCI architecture.

The role requires DoD 8570.01 IAT II certification, DoD Secret clearance with TS upgrade, and willingness to travel up to 25% including possible OCONUS; you will coordinate with NGEN-R program stakeholders and support cybersecurity controls.

Qualifications

BA/BS degree in IT/Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience.
DoD Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS.
DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II certification required prior to onboarding.
Network vendor certifications (CCNA/CCNP) or higher.
Ability to travel 25% including potential OCONUS travel.
5+ years troubleshooting routing and switching, plus network device configuration.

Responsibilities

Manage BAN/LAN/WAN network operations, troubleshooting, installation, and configuration.
Provide COMSEC Local Element support, hardware/software assets, and key inventories.
Document work activities and maintain site documentation.
Initiate software upgrades to the NGEN-R system and communications infrastructure.
Coordinate network upgrades and maintenance with NGEN-R program and stakeholders.
Monitor network health and proactively mitigate issues.
