Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Field/Base Network Engineer to support the SMIT contract, focusing on the NMCI backbone, cybersecurity services, network operations, and data transport for the Navy. The role requires leadership of a large technical team and direct interaction with the Customer, managing resources for incident response, change and problem management, and ITSM/DevSecOps initiatives.

Ideal candidates bring extensive Operations/Engineering leadership experience, prior network/transport

Qualifications

BA/BS Degree and 4+ years of relevant experience; MS/MBA with 2+ years acceptable
DoD Secret Security Clearance; ability to upgrade
DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE, CISSP, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CYSA+)
Network Vendor Associate Level or higher Certification (e.g., CCNA/CCNP)
Ability to travel 25% including possible OCONUS travel
5+ years’ experience troubleshooting complex routing and switching issues

Responsibilities

Lead network operations for BAN/LAN/WAN, troubleshooting, repair, installation, cabling, configuration, and integration of current and future architectures
Provide COMSEC Local Element support, manage assets and keys, load keys into encryption devices, and coordinate with Government KOAMs
Maintain site documentation and perform software upgrades/changes to the NGEN-R system and infrastructure
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware per SOPs and vendor guidance
Coordinate with NGEN-R Program and stakeholders on upgrades and maintenance
Monitor network health/status and propose corrective actions
Possibly travel locally/overnight by car or air to sites for operations support
