Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Field/Base Network Engineer for the SMIT contract to lead and coordinate BAN/LAN/WAN network operations, troubleshooting, installation, and configuration across multiple sites, including COMSEC responsibilities. The role supports NMCI-related services and cybersecurity compliance in a large DoD environment.

The position requires 4+ years in network engineering with DoD experience, a valid security clearance or ability to upgrade, and DoD 8570.01 IAT II

Qualifications

BA/BS degree with 4+ years in network engineering or equivalent.
DoD Secret Clearance with ability to upgrade to TS clearance.
DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification required before onboarding (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP, etc).
Ability to travel up to 25% including possible OCONUS travel.
5+ years troubleshooting complex routing and switching issues.

Responsibilities

Operates as an Operations-focused Network Engineer on BAN/LAN/WAN network operations.
Supports COMSEC Local Element activities and key inventories.
Documents work activities and maintains site documentation.
Performs software upgrades and changes to NGEN-R systems and infrastructure.
Interfaces with NOC for incident troubleshooting and restoral.
Coordinates network upgrades and maintenance with Program and customer stakeholders.
