Job summary

Leidos in Bethesda, Maryland, is seeking a Field/Base Network Engineer for the SMIT Contract to support NMCI backbone and network operations, cybersecurity services, and DevSecOps initiatives across the Navy enterprise.

The role requires leadership of a large technical team, hands-on routing and switching experience, DoD clearance, and certification requirements; travel up to 25% and ability to work off-hours as needed.

Qualifications

• BA/BS with 4+ years relevant experience; MS/MBA with 2+ years accepted.
• DoD Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to Top Secret.
• DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II certification required.
• Network vendor certification (Cisco CCNA/CCNP).
• 5+ years troubleshooting routing and switching; 5+ years configuring switches/routers.

Responsibilities

• Lead a large network engineering team across BAN/LAN/WAN operations.
• Manage COMSEC assets and keys at assigned locations.
• Document work activities and maintain site documentation.
• Coordinate software upgrades and changes to the NGEN-R system.
• Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement of faulty hardware.
• Interface with NOC to support incident troubleshooting and restoral.
• Support network configuration and asset management activities.
