Job summary

GWS Tool Group is seeking an Applications Specialist in the Eastern Michigan Territory. The role focuses on understanding customer needs in metalworking and educating customers, prospects, and distributors on products and capabilities.

You will communicate customer requirements back to the GWS Tool Group team and drive new opportunities. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years manufacturing experience, strong tooling knowledge, and proven ability to manage accounts and develop new business.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years strong manufacturing background with a focus in Milling, Turning, Grooving.
• Knowledgeable in tooling and manufacturing process.
• Assist customers with processing parts and correct application of tools.
• Job shop experience is valued.
• Experience designing special tools is highly regarded.
• Experience processing customer parts from drawing to finished product.
• Account management for current customers; develop new customers.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments and meet customers to review applications and product requirements and determine opportunities.
• Plan and conduct sales presentations in person on a daily basis.
• Liaise between the company and customers on pricing, service, and product launches.
• Generate and develop prospect accounts to increase revenue through the distribution channel.
• Update customers on product modifications, changes, and enhancements.
• Attend conferences and trade shows; use marketing data to maximize sales effectiveness.
• Prepare reports for sales and marketing and maintain customer accounts.
• Provide quotes with inside sales support and follow up after lead handoff.
