Job summary

Oxford Nanopore Technologies is seeking a commercially focused Field Applications Scientist to join our Technical Services team in the US. You will partner with Sales and cross-functional teams to drive technology adoption, provide pre- and post-sales technical support, and train customers on ONT workflows across our Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut region.

You will deliver technical guidance, understand customer needs, and help expand account opportunities while traveling up to 70%

Qualifications

PhD in Life Sciences preferred or MSc with relevant commercial experience.
Strong background in molecular biology/genomics/sequencing.
Experience supporting experimental design, workflow optimization and data analysis.
Excellent scientific communication and presenter who can translate concepts to customers.
CRM experience such as Salesforce.
1–2 years of commercial and customer-facing experience.
Ability to identify customer needs and partner with Sales to grow accounts.

Responsibilities

Partner with Sales to support commercial opportunities and provide technical guidance.
Deliver pre-sales and post-sales technical support, training, and troubleshooting.
Build strong relationships to ensure adoption and utilization of ONT technologies.
Deliver presentations, workshops, and training to diverse audiences.
Collaborate with Technical Services, Sales, Product Management, Marketing and others.
Develop engagement plans for strategic accounts and provide market feedback.
Document customer interactions in ONT CRM systems.
