Job summary

Plug Power is seeking a Field Application Engineer I in the Sales department to serve as the primary technical resource for the field sales team. You will evaluate customer cryogenic requirements against Plug Power solutions, articulate Cryo technology to business and technical users, and lead cross-functional teams to implement scalable solutions.

Ideal candidates have a strong technical background in cryogenic systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or related technical field.
• 3+ years of related work history, preferably with field-based technical solutions.
• Willingness to travel up to 40%.
• Experience with cryogenic equipment or industrial gas sectors is valued.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expert technical knowledge of Plug Power products, especially Cryo equipment and services.
• Support Sales by articulating Cryo technology and product positioning.
• Assist in designing technical solutions to meet customer constraints.
• Gather field data and work cross-functionally to implement new offerings.
• Provide technical training for sales staff and customers.
• Respond to RFIs/RFPs with clear, actionable solutions.
