Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a skilled 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners on active construction sites and plant environments. You will capture data, verify on site, process in Artec Studio, and deliver meshes, reports, and scan-to-CAD files that clients can act on.

You should have hands-on scanner experience (Artec Leo, Eva, or Space Spider), familiarity with CAD drawings, and the ability to travel to regional hubs as required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating handheld structured-light or laser scanners on real projects.
• Experience with Artec Studio or comparable scan-processing software.
• Familiarity with reading structural or fabrication drawings and CAD outputs.
• Comfortable on active construction sites and industrial plants; travel as needed.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record; able to travel with equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar, embeds, structures, and equipment before pours or during repairs.
• Control drift on large objects using reference features and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving; process scans in Artec Studio.
• Produce deviation maps, reports, and scan-to-CAD outputs (STEP/IGES) for reverse engineering.
• Document capture procedures and equipment settings; manage chain of custody on forensic matters.
