Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a 3D scanning technician to operate handheld Artec Leo scanners on a range of site projects, from pre-pour rebar mats to corroded pipes and worn machine parts. You will capture data on site, verify coverage, and carry out on-site checks before leaving the jobsite.

You will process scans in Artec Studio, create meshes and point clouds, generate measurement reports and scan-to-CAD files for client use, and coordinate with project teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating handheld scanners on real projects.
• Knowledge of Artec Studio or similar scan-processing software.
• Familiarity with CAD and ability to read structural drawings.
• Comfortable on active construction sites and industrial plants.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record.
• Willingness to travel to regional hubs as needed.
• Experience with scan-to-CAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans before concrete placement.
• Control drift on large objects with reference features.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio and export formats.
• Produce deviation maps, measurement reports, and coordinate reports.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids for reverse engineering.
• Document capture procedures and chain of custody.
• Keep equipment, batteries, and calibration records organized.
• Coordinate access and safety with site contacts; travel as assigned.
• Travel to regional hubs as needed.
