Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a 3D scanning technician to perform handheld scans (Artec Leo) of rebar, embeds, and structures before pours, with on-site data validation and delivery of CAD-ready files.

You will process data in Artec Studio, produce reports and deviation maps, and coordinate access with site contacts. Role requires travel to regional hubs and active construction site work.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating handheld scanners on real projects.
• Proficiency with Artec Studio or similar scan-processing software.
• Ability to read structural and fabrication drawings.
• Willingness to travel and work on active construction sites.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of reinforcements, embeds, and structures on site.
• Control drift on large objects using reference features and overlaps.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, and mesh export (STL/OBJ/E57).
• Produce deviation maps, measurement reports, and anchor bolt coordinates vs drawings.
• Create scan-to-CAD solids (STEP/IGES) for reverse engineering and fit-up checks.
• Document capture procedures and chain-of-custody; maintain equipment records.
• Coordinate access, permits, safety with site contacts; travel as assigned.
