Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a trained 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners (Artec Leo or equivalent) on varied site projects. You will capture data on rebar, embeds, corroded pipes, and structural components, then process on-site and in Artec Studio to deliver ready-to-use meshes, reports, and CAD exports.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating a handheld scanner on real projects.
• Working knowledge of Artec Studio or comparable scan-processing software.
• Familiarity with reading CAD drawings and related documentation.
• Able to travel and work on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar and embeds before concrete placement.
• Control drift on large objects with reference features and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, and export.
• Produce deviation maps and scan-to-CAD files for client use.
• Document procedures and maintain equipment while coordinating with site staff.
