Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a hands-on 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners (Artec Leo, EVA, or Space Spider) and deliver accurate data for concrete pours, structural inspections, and machine shop components. You will capture data on-site, verify coverage, and process in Artec Studio to produce deliverables ready for CAD workflows.

You will work on diverse projects, from rebar mats to crane components, requiring travel to regional hubs and sites.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience operating a handheld structured-light or laser scanner on real projects.
Working knowledge of Artec Studio or comparable scan-processing software; mesh cleanup, registration, and export.
Familiarity with CAD and reading structural or fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of various structures and components before concrete placement or during repairs.
Control drift and ensure capture completeness on site.
Process scans in Artec Studio and export to STL/OBJ/E57 and CAD formats.
Produce deviation maps, measurement reports, and coordinate reports against drawings.
Build scan-to-CAD solids or hand-clean meshes for the modeling team.
Coordinate access, permits, and safety with site contacts; travel to regional hubs as assigned.
