Construction Material Testing is seeking a trained 3D scanning technician to operate handheld Artec scanners on prep and on-site projects. You will capture, process, and deliver meshes, point clouds, and scan-to-CAD outputs for client use.

You must be comfortable on construction sites, able to travel to regional hubs, and willing to pursue relevant certifications (ACI/ICC) with company sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating a handheld scanner on real projects (Artec Leo, Eva, Space Spider or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of Artec Studio or comparable scan-processing software; mesh cleanup, registration, export.
• Familiarity with CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion, Inventor or Revit) and reading drawings.
• Comfortable on active construction sites and industrial plants; able to carry equipment, climb, and work outdoors.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record; travel and lifting duties may be required.
• Experience with scan-to-CAD or metrology reporting is a plus; certifications are a plus and sponsor available.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar and embeds before concrete placement, damaged structures, pipe and tanks, and machine parts.
• Control drift on large objects using reference features and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, and export to STL, OBJ, E57 and CAD formats.
• Produce deviation color maps, measurement reports, crack maps, pit-depth tables, and anchor bolt reports against drawings or CAD.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids (STEP/IGES) for reverse engineering and fit-up checks; hand-clean meshes for modeling teams.
• Document capture procedure, equipment settings, and chain of custody on forensic matters.
• Maintain scanner, batteries, and calibration records; coordinate access, permits, and safety with superintendents and plant contacts.
• Travel to regional hubs as assigned.
