Job summary

Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support our national client base. You will perform OTDR testing, fusion/splice operations, and diagnose network impairments across diverse environments, from retail to data centers. A strong emphasis on documentation and safety is required.

This 1099 contractor role offers on-site work with travel within an 80-mile radius, a flexible schedule, and opportunities to work on cutting-edge fiber infrastructure nationwide.

Qualifications

• Fiber optic testing and troubleshooting experience required.
• Experience with OTDRs, power meters, light sources, fiber certification equipment, and visual fault locators.
• Understanding of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic systems.
• Familiarity with structured cabling standards and best practices.
• Ability to read network diagrams, splice schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• At least 1 year of Fiber, I.T., or Telecom experience, and one of: FOA/CFOT/BICSI/Network+ or 5+ years field experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of fiber optic and technical tasks including: fiber optic splicing, OTDR testing, connectors inspection, jumper replacement, and cabling installation/testing.
• Identify and troubleshoot customer-premise and network-side impairments.
• Document test results, splicing records, and project deliverables.
• Work independently across various environments (retail, medical, restaurant, corporate, telecom, data centers).
• Maintain professionalism with clients and project stakeholders.
