Job summary

Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support our national client base. The role involves OTDR testing, fusion splicing, and troubleshooting across diverse environments including retail, medical, and data centers.

The position requires hands-on field work, reliability, and the ability to manage test results, splicing records, and project deliverables. Travel within a coverage territory is expected; this is a contract-based, on-site role.

Qualifications

• Fiber optic testing and troubleshooting experience required.
• Experience with OTDRs, power meters, light sources, fiber certification equipment, and visual fault locators.
• Understanding of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic systems.
• Ability to read network diagrams, splice schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of fiber optic and technical tasks including but not limited to:
• Fiber optic splicing using fusion and mechanical splicing techniques
• OTDR testing, power meter testing, light source testing, and fiber certification
• Fiber continuity testing and fault-distance identification
• Connector inspection, cleaning, and remediation
• Patch-cord troubleshooting and fiber jumper replacement
• Installation, termination, and testing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling
• Identification and troubleshooting of customer-premise and network-side impairments
• Documentation of test results, splicing records, and project deliverables
• Work independently across various environments including retail, medical, restaurant, corporate, telecommunications, and data center facilities
• Maintain a high standard of professionalism with clients and project stakeholders
• Be available to accept service requests within your coverage territory depending on your availability, NOT FULL TIME
