Job summary

Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support our national client base. You’ll perform OTDR tests, splicing, and fault diagnosis in various environments, documenting results and maintaining high professional standards.

This 1099 contractor role covers travel within a broad territory, with on-site pay and opportunities to work on fiber infrastructure, data centers, and enterprise networks nationwide.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of Fiber, IT, or Telecom experience required.
• Certified fiber test and splicing credentials preferred.
• Proven ability to read diagrams and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of fiber optic and technical tasks including but not limited to:
• Fiber optic splicing using fusion and mechanical splicing techniques
• OTDR testing, power meter testing, light source testing, and fiber certification
• Fiber continuity testing and fault-distance identification
• Connector inspection, cleaning, and remediation
• Patch-cord troubleshooting and fiber jumper replacement
• Installation, termination, and testing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling
• Identification and troubleshooting of customer-premise and network-side impairments
• Documentation of test results, splicing records, and project deliverables
• Work independently across environments (retail, medical, restaurant, corporate, telecoms, data centers)
• Maintain professionalism with clients and stakeholders
• Be available to accept service requests within coverage territory based on availability
