Job summary

Forged Fiber is seeking a skilled Fiber Tech II – Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable across our networks. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and collaboration with construction crews and engineers in Denver, CO.

Responsibilities include fault troubleshooting with OTDR, testing and repairing splice cases, and reading construction diagrams. Candidates should have a high school diploma and 2+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with fiber splicing and outside-plant operations preferred.
• Proficient with fusion splicer, OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifiers, and inspection scope.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable for construction projects.
• Troubleshoot and isolate fiber faults using OTDR and related tools; document results.
• Prepare, install, audit, and repair splice cases across aerial and underground networks.
• Perform testing and routine repairs to restore service and maintain route integrity.
• Read construction prints, splice diagrams, and maps to complete work accurately.
• Coordinate with crews and engineers to resolve outages and meet schedules.
