Job summary

Hotwire Communications is seeking a Construction Technician to install and service video, voice and internet in commercial and residential settings. You will work on fiber builds, pull cables, install CAT5/CAT6 drops, test circuits, and troubleshoot RF and network issues.

The role supports on-call rotations and requires safety-conscious, dependable individuals with relevant experience and a clean driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's degree in Internet Technologies is preferred.
• At least 3 years’ experience installing, testing and troubleshooting cable, phone and internet.
• Proven fiber optic cabling experience and proficiency with hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist installation teams with activation of fiber services in homes and common areas.
• Install, service, and disconnect video, telephone, and internet customers; punch down lines.
• Test and tone wires from equipment room to outlet; troubleshoot RF and network issues.
• Install conduits, cable drops, and RF In-Building systems; coordinate site builds.
• Maintain safety, participate in on-call rotations, and comply with local codes.
