Job summary

Hotwire Communications, a leader in fiber optic services, seeks a Construction Technician in the Los Angeles area. The role involves ensuring high-quality installation of video, voice and internet for both commercial and residential sites, including IDFs and MDFs.

You will assist with activations, pull low-voltage wiring, install CAT5/CAT6 drops, test services, troubleshoot IP/demarc issues, and support RF in-building systems while adhering to safety standards and on-call schedules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred
• 3+ years of experience installing, testing and troubleshooting cable, phone and internet
• Fiber optic cabling experience a must
• Valid state driver license and ability to work at height on ladders

Responsibilities

• Assist installation teams with activation of fiber-optic service in subscriber premises
• Install and service video, telephone and internet
• Troubleshoot video, voice and data issues from demarc to customer equipment
• Test and tone wires from equipment room to outlets
• Install RF in-building cellular systems and related equipment
• Coordinate site builds and safety-compliant installations
• Perform corrective maintenance and part replacement as needed
• Adhere to safety policies and on-call rotation requirements
