Carrington Mortgage Services is seeking a claims specialist focused on FHA home retention claims. The role involves preparing, filing, and following up on HUD claims per guidelines, with daily follow-ups and detailed documentation. Target starting hourly rate is $23-$26.

The position requires understanding loss mitigation, strong communication, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to multitask within deadlines. Prior FHA claims experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the loss mitigation and claims process.
• Excellent written and oral communication, organizational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and quality on loan evaluation.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and changing priorities.
• Ability to understand opposing points of view on highly complex issues and to negotiate and integrate different viewpoints.
• Ability to make decisions that have moderate impact on immediate work unit.
• Ability to organize and prioritize own work schedule (short-term).
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and to record, balance, and check results for accuracy.
• Ability to compose materials such as detailed reports and manuals.
• Ability to manage work to meet strict deadlines.
• One to two years mortgage servicing default experience preferred.
• Previous FHA claims experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and file all HUD claims timely and accurately according to guidelines.
• Follow up semi-daily on all outstanding claim proceeds.
• Perform a loan-level reconciliation for all final claim proceeds.
• Provide posting instructions for all claim proceeds within 24 hours.
• Review, follow up, and ensure timely completion of all steps.
• Input the completion date when actions occur.
• Obtain approval, and adjust dates when steps cannot be completed.
• Perform routine follow-up daily.
• Keep Supervisor informed of trends and problems.
• Document all servicing, actions, delays, follow-up, and calls.
• Ensure all claim documents are imaged timely.
• Maintain and control the HUD audit file.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
