Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services seeks a detail-oriented claims professional to prepare and file FHA/HUD loss mitigation claims. You will monitor progress, reconcile claims, and ensure timely posting of proceeds while maintaining audit-ready documentation.

The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance, and proactive communication with internal teams. The position requires knowledge of loss mitigation processes, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the loss mitigation and claims process.
• Excellent written and oral communication, organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and changing priorities.
• Ability to understand opposing points of view on highly complex issues and to negotiate and integrate different viewpoints to serve the best interests of CMS.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file HUD claims timely and accurately according to guidelines.
• Follow up on claim proceeds semi-daily.
• Perform loan-level reconciliation of claimed vs paid amounts and outstanding indebtedness.
• Provide posting instructions for claim proceeds within 24 hours of receipt.
• Review and ensure timely completion of regularly scheduled steps.
• Input completion dates for actions.
• Obtain approvals and adjust dates when steps cannot be completed.
• Daily routine follow-up on tasks and trends.
• Document servicing actions, delays, and communications in system notes.
• Ensure all claim documents are imaged timely.
• Maintain HUD audit file.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
