Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services, Boise, ID, is seeking a claims specialist to prepare, file, and follow up on FHA and HUD-related claims in a timely, accurate manner. You will ensure postings within 24 hours and maintain complete documentation in the system, while supporting the team to resolve denials, delays, and audits.

Ideal candidates have loss mitigation knowledge, strong communication, attention to detail, and 1–2 years of mortgage servicing or FHA claims experience.

Qualifications

• Loss mitigation and claims process knowledge required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with problem-solving ability.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
• FHA claims experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file HUD claims timely and accurately.
• Follow up on all outstanding claim proceeds.
• Reconcile final claim proceeds with amounts claimed, paid, and loan balance.
• Provide posting instructions within 24 hours of receipt.
• Review, follow up, and ensure completion of scheduled steps.
• Input completion dates as actions occur.
• Obtain approvals and adjust dates when steps cannot be completed.
• Daily routine follow-ups and trend reporting.
• Document servicing actions and communications in system notes.
• Image all claim documents timely and maintain HUD audit file.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
