Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services is seeking a detail oriented Claims Specialist to prepare, file and follow up on FHA home retention claims per HUD and insurer guidelines. This is a full-time role with an hourly rate of $23–$26 and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will file HUD claims, monitor progress daily, perform loan-level reconciliations, ensure timely imaging of documents, update system notes, and maintain the HUD audit file. Strong communication and accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• Understanding of loss mitigation and claims processes.
• Excellent written and oral communication; able to interact with all levels.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Interpersonal skills with teamwork and quality on loan evaluation.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file HUD claims accurately according to guidelines.
• Follow up on claim proceeds daily.
• Perform loan-level reconciliations of claim amounts, payments and indebtedness.
• Provide posting instructions within 24 hours of receipt.
• Review and ensure timely completion of scheduled steps.
