Carrington Mortgage Services is seeking an FHA Claims Specialist to prepare, file, and follow up on HUD/FHA loss mitigation claims in compliance with CMS guidelines. The role requires strong mortgage servicing knowledge and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities include accurate filing, daily follow-up, loan-level reconciliations, and timely posting of claim proceeds. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• 1-2 years mortgage servicing default experience preferred.
• Previous FHA claims experience preferred.
• Understanding of loss mitigation and claims process.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving.
• Ability to work with multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to negotiate and integrate different viewpoints.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and file HUD claims timely and accurately according to guidelines.
• Follow up on claim proceeds on a semi-daily basis.
• Perform loan-level reconciliation of final claim proceeds.
• Provide posting instructions for claim proceeds within 24 hours.
• Review and ensure timely completion of all scheduled steps.
• Input completion dates when actions occur; adjust dates as needed.
• Follow up daily on ongoing claims and trends with supervisor.
• Document all servicing actions, delays, and notes in system.
