Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services seeks an Loss Mitigation FHA Claims Specialist to prepare, file, and track HUD/FHA claims in compliance with investor guidelines. The role requires timely processing, accurate reconciliations, and proactive communication with stakeholders.

Qualified candidates typically have 1–2 years of mortgage servicing default experience, FHA claims familiarity, and strong written/oral communication, organization, and time-management skills.

Qualifications

• One (1) to two (2) years’ mortgage servicing default experience preferred.
• Understanding the loss mitigation and claims process.
• Excellent written and oral communication, organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file HUD claims timely and accurately according to guidelines.
• Follow up semi-daily on all outstanding claim proceeds.
• Perform a loan level reconciliation for final claim proceeds and adjust as needed.
• Provide posting instructions for all claim proceeds within 24 hours of receipt.
• Document all servicing actions, delays, and phone conversations in system notes.
