Carrington Mortgage Services in Madison, WI is seeking a Loss Mitigation FHA Claims Specialist to prepare, file, and follow up on HUD/FHA claims in accordance with guidelines.

You will coordinate with insurers and CMS, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure timely posting of claim proceeds while meeting deadlines. The role requires strong attention to detail, communication, and the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• 1–2 years mortgage servicing default experience preferred.
• Previous FHA claims experience preferred.
• Understanding of loss mitigation and claims process.
• Excellent written and oral communication and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file HUD/FHA claims timely and accurately.
• Follow up on claim proceeds on a semi-daily basis.
• Perform loan level reconciliations for final claim proceeds, including escrow and advances.
• Provide posting instructions for claim proceeds within 24 hours of receipt.
• Document servicing actions, delays, and conversations in system notes.
